Drop-off, Cancellations, Tardiness, & Other Policies
ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE FOR IN-PERSON CLIENTS
Classes are scheduled with a 5 minute window in between students, so being on time is imperative. When dropping off your student, please wait in the driveway until I come to get them. I may be teaching another student or attending to other tasks, so I am not able to accommodate early arrivals. I will walk students to the front of the house when our session is finished. If the student needs to leave before the scheduled end time, please let me know in advance. Unfortunately, I do not have a safe, private, supervised waiting area for students, so being on time for both drop-off and pick-up is important.

CANCELLATION OF LESSONS BY CLIENT/STUDENT
The Student (or parent) may cancel any lesson using the online portal if it is more than 24 hours before the session start time. If you are having difficulty cancelling online, please let me know by text or email as soon as possible. If you need to cancel a class within 24 hours, please contact your tutor or email info@graspreading.com immediately.
Students are allotted make-up sessions each term in accordance with the number of regular classes they take (with a maximum of 3 per term). Cancelling or rescheduling classes will not extend the subscription or contract length. In the event of cancellations, the student/client should schedule make-up sessions in order to complete all the lessons. Fees are based upon the Student’s undertaking to attend all lessons as stipulated in their regular schedule and no discount or refunds shall be given in respect of lessons not attended by the Student.

NO-SHOW POLICY
Students who are not present (either online or in-person) at the scheduled start time are considered late. The tutor will wait for 20 minutes and attempt to contact the clients. After 20 minutes, the student will be considered a no-show. If the Student is a no-show, the client is still responsible for payment of the tutoring session. No discounts or refunds will be given to a client who does not show up for a scheduled lesson and does not communicate with the tutor.
CANCELLATION OF LESSONS BY TUTOR
The Tutor may cancel lessons by giving 24 hours prior notice to the Client/Student. The Tutor will make every effort to reschedule the appointment at a time agreeable to both parties, failing which the Client/Student shall be refunded the equivalent of one lesson fee (based on tuition and number of scheduled lessons).

SICKNESS & EMERGENCY CANCELLATIONS
Thank you for being mindful of symptoms of any illnesses and keeping students at home when they are ill. The tutor will make every effort to notify clients if the tutor is ill, and will offer an online lesson whenever possible, if agreeable to the client. In the event of either party having a minor illness, an online lesson will be arranged as an alternative as long as the illness does not hinder any individual's ability to participate. If the student or Tutor are too ill to participate in a lesson, notify the Tutor as soon as possible. Regardless of the reason for cancellation or the amount of notice given, students are able to schedule a make-up session with the make-up credits they are allotted each term. Cancellations beyond the maximum of the student's make-up credits will not be rescheduled or refunded.

LATE ARRIVAL
Classes begin and end according to the times booked and in the schedule. Class times will not be adjusted or changed to make up for time lost because of late arrival by the Student. Students who arrive late will be dismissed at scheduled time. If the Tutor is not present or available at the booked start time, the tutor will extend the session if possible and agreeable to the client, or will make up the lost time at a future date.

MISSED SESSIONS
Because the nature of the tutoring sessions is to improve reading performance it is imperative that the Student attends regularly and on time. If there are 4 or more cancellations (with no attempt made to reschedule), no-shows, or excessive tardies in any term, the client may lose their spot on the client roster and put on a wait list for services from the tutor.
Alt
PET & NOISE POLICY
There are pets and other children in the tutor's home. The tutor will do their best to ensure that they are placed in an area so as not to disturb the tutoring sessions. For students/clients attending online sessions, please ensure the internet connection is strong and the environment is free from distractions and excessive noise. Headphones with a built in microphone can be helpful to minimize distracting noises.

INCLEMENT WEATHER
In the event of inclement weather (snow, sleet, hail, flooding, tornado, hurricane, severe thunderstorm) it is up to the discretion of the Client/Student and the Tutor as to whether or not an in-person lesson will be held. Whenever possible, an online lesson will be held rather than a cancellation due to inclement weather. Please communicate with the Tutor on lesson days when there is inclement weather. In the event that an online lesson cannot be held due to internet outages or a need to evacuate or take shelter, the session will be rescheduled at a time convenient and safe to both parties.

ONLINE LESSON CANCELLATION
The same policies apply to both in-person and online lessons. The tutor is connected to high-speed fiber-optic internet with a hard-wired connection. The tutor has battery backup for the internet and computer, and a generator in case of a prolonged power outage. In the event that the tutor is unable to teach due to a power or internet outage, the tutor will contact the client as soon as possible. If agreeable to both parties, the session will be rescheduled.

TERMINATION
This tutoring agreement may be terminated/changed by the client or tutor at any time with 14 days notice. Refunds for partial months will not be issued.

REFUND POLICY
Please be aware that there is a No Refund Policy for all services. Refund requests, including, but not limited to, those made by Students who cannot attend or use services, regardless of the student’s reason(s), and regardless of whether the Student provides us with advance notice, will not be honored. Exceptions may be made only in cases in which a Student cannot attend due to serious illness or the death of an immediate member of the Student’s family. In these cases, official documentation may be required.
